Children and Parents

#GODLYParents will ensure their children are instructed in the ways and Law of the Lord.

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

It seems like a trivial thought. Anyone who is honest with themselves believes in God, but as parents, what do we pass on to our children about God? What do we tell our children? More importantly, what do we show our children?

Our church runs several bus routes. We send busses out to the cities and neighborhoods all around our church. Our busses bring in hundreds of children in a single Sunday. Where are the parents? All of these parents think they are doing a great thing when they pack their off on the church bus, but are they? More than anything, children look up to their parents. How can the church undo the examples the children see all week long in one, or eve three hours a week.  Yes, church is important, but children need #GodlyParents.

Godly parents will never criticize the pastor of their children.

2 Kings 2:23-24 (KJV) And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Parents will give an account for every idle word and for how their children are raised. However, as the parent must give an account, the Pastor will give an account for the preaching. When you tear the preacher down, you destroy his ability to minister to his children.

Moreover, there are bears in the woods.  God may not use a bear to get you, but when you tear the man of God down, God will not take it lightly.
